Recently , Avago Technologies ( Nasdaq : AVGO) shows the first CXP host joint reference design. The reference design for high-speed routers , enterprise data centers and high-performance cloud computing applications 100G/120G connection. Salt Lake City, Utah is currently showcasing this design . This reference design uses Vitesse's VSC7227 12 -channel signal conditioner and Avago's AFBR-83PDZ 100G CXP optical transceiver modules. The reference design will help system developers to add 10-Gbps port density , and support toward 100-Gbps upgrade. Vitesse's VSC7227 12-channel support 155Mbps to 14.1Gbps data transfer rate . It can be provided on each channel adaptive equalization , and no requirements to the firmware . VSC7277 combines a CTLE / DFE input receiver ( to balance above 30 dB loss ) and a Three-tap FIR output driver ( better than 18 dB with a de-emphasis ) . Avago's AFBR-83PDZ 100GbE oriented Ethernet and 12x10G infiniBand Quad Data Rate IB-QBR applications designed for 12-channel parallel optical CXP pluggable transceivers, this transceiver for the short-range multi-channel data communication and interconnect applications high-performance modules , each 12 data channels to the integration of more than 120Gbps of aggregate bandwidth. Per channel operating speed of 10.3125Gb / s, using OM3 fiber link distances up to 100 meters using OM4 fiber can reach 150 meters , these modules backwards compatible 12x5G IB IB-DDR double data rate and 12x2.5G single data rate IB-SDR applications .
